Matobo Hills is a distinctive granite landscape in southwestern Zimbabwe, about 35 kilometers south of Bulawayo. Rounded domes, balancing boulders, rocky ridges, and wooded valleys form a dense group of hills rising above the surrounding savanna. The landscape is part of a large cultural heritage area that includes Matobo National Park and neighboring communal and privately managed land.

Sigiriya, in central Sri Lanka, is an ancient rock fortress and one of the country’s most iconic archaeological sites. Rising nearly 200 meters from the surrounding plains, the massive granite column is crowned by the ruins of a royal palace built in the 5th century CE by King Kasyapa.

Aberdare National Park is a 311 square mile sanctuary on an isolated volcanic massif which forms part of the eastern wall of the Rift Valley. A lesser-known river port in the Mekong Delta, Sa Dec was once the capital of Dong Thap province of southern Vietnam. Today, it is best known for its flower gardens and authentic bustling market. The city is also famous as the setting for French writer Marguerite Duras' 1984 novel, The Lover, and its 1991 film adaptation of the same name.
