Tokeh is a coastal town on Sierra Leone’s Freetown Peninsula in the Western Area Rural District, between River No. 2 and York. Fishing and tourism are important parts of the local economy, while the town is surrounded by forested hills and the Atlantic Ocean.

Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park lies west of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, extending for about 161 kilometres along the rugged West MacDonnell Ranges. The park is known for red quartzite ridges, steep-sided gorges, dry riverbeds, and permanent waterholes that provide important refuges for plants and animals. Its landscapes are part of a much older geological setting shaped by erosion and changing climates.

Noto is a hilltop city in southeastern Sicily, know for its carefully planned historic center and extensive use of warm-colored local limestone. Its main streets and squares are lined with churches, monasteries, palaces, and civic buildings whose carved facades create a unified architectural character.

The city of Canakkale lies at the narrow, 1,200 meter entrance to the Canakkale Strait that connects the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean. To honor the 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives at Gelibolu (Gallipoli), the peninsula was made into Gelibou Historical National Park.

Xi’an, located in central China’s Shaanxi Province, served as the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and was the capital of 13 imperial dynasties. Its long history is most famously represented by the Terracotta Army, an underground army of life-sized warriors discovered in 1974. Each figure has distinct facial features, hairstyles, and armor, designed to protect Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife.

Lake Kariba is a large reservoir on the Zambezi River along the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. On the Zimbabwean side, the lake stretches through a landscape of wooded hills, rocky shorelines, islands, and broad expanses of open water. The reservoir is closely connected with the town of Kariba, which developed around the hydroelectric project at the lake’s eastern end.
