Brown Bluff is a distinctive coastal landmark on the east side of the Tabarin Peninsula, overlooking the southwestern Antarctic Sound. Its defining feature is a long beach of cobbles and volcanic ash backed by steep, red-brown cliffs that rise toward an ice-capped, flat-topped mountain. The cliffs are made of volcanic tuff and contain rounded volcanic bombs, giving the shoreline a rugged geological character. Toledo, seat of Lucas County, northwestern Ohio, a port on the Maumee River, at its mouth on Lake Erie; incorporated 1837. The city's extensive transportation facilities include its fine natural harbor, which is a port on the Great Lakes-Saint Lawrence Seaway and ranks among the world's leading soft-coal-shipping ports; an extensive network of railroads; and an air cargo terminal.

Lagos sits on the southern edge of Portugal’s Algarve where a lively old port town meets wide Atlantic skies. Brasília may be a World Heritage Site, but it is only of interest to town planning and architecture students, and those keen to witness the folly of man on a metropolitan scale. It must have looked good on paper, and still looks good in photos, but in the flesh, forget it. Designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, urban planner Lucio Costa, and landscape architect Burle Marx, the city was built in an incredible three years between 1957 and 1960.
