Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore occupies a long stretch of northwestern Michigan’s Lower Peninsula along Lake Michigan, protecting towering dunes, sandy beaches, forests, inland lakes, and steep coastal bluffs. Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve is a vast protected area in southwestern Bolivia, close to the borders with Chile and Argentina. It covers a high-altitude landscape of volcanic mountains, deserts, salt flats, geothermal fields, and mineral-rich lagoons. The reserve forms part of the southern Altiplano and is one of Bolivia’s most distinctive protected areas.

Misool is one of the four major islands of Raja Ampat in Southwest Papua, Indonesia, lying southwest of the larger island of New Guinea. The island is surrounded by a network of smaller islands, reefs, limestone formations, and sheltered bays. Much of its landscape remains lightly developed, with dense forest covering the interior and clear waters extending along the coast.
