The Oregon Coast Trail passes through the area, connecting Seaside with surrounding coastal landscapes. At the southern end of town, the Lewis and Clark Salt Works marks a historic site associated with the Corps of Discovery and provides a small but distinctive link to the region’s past.

Seafood is an important part of Seaside’s food culture, with restaurants serving salmon, Dungeness crab, oysters, clams, and other Pacific Northwest ingredients. The city is also known for casual coastal foods, including fish and chips, chowder, saltwater taffy, and locally made ice cream. One distinctive detail is the Seaside Promenade, which has functioned as both a practical route along the ocean and a social gathering space for generations. Nearby rivers and estuaries also support fishing and wildlife observation, while the open beach provides changing views of the Pacific throughout the year.
