Located in northern Washington State, near the Canadian Border, Bellingham is the southern port for the Alaska Marine Highway System. Area attractions inlcude the San Juan Islands, winter skiing and the popular resort of Semi-Ah-Moo.

State College, borough, Centre County, central Pennsylvania, in the Nittany Valley; incorporated 1896. Situated in a fertile farm area, it is chiefly residential and has research and development firms producing electrical and electronic equipment, ceramic chips, and computer soft-ware. Other products include printed materials and chemicals. The Christopher Columbus family chapel, moved from Spain in 1919, is locat-ed nearby. The community, settled in 1859, is named for Pennsylvania State College

Trabzon was founded in the 7th century B.C. by Milletain colonists. On entering the city, on a green hill descending to the sea, is a well-preserved 13th century Byzantine church, now the Avasofya Museum. The walls of this church are decorated with frescoes, some of the finest examples of Byzantine craftmanship. The higher part of the city, the old quarter, inside the still extant fortifications with its timber houses, should be visited.

Gili Air is the easternmost of the three Gili Islands, located just off the northwest coast of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara. The small island is surrounded by coral reefs and shallow tropical waters, with sandy beaches and coconut palms lining much of its coast. Gili Air has a resident community and a more relaxed settlement pattern than Gili Trawangan, while still offering guesthouses, restaurants, cafés, and dive centers.

The Farne Islands are a group of rocky islands off the Northumberland coast in northeast England, separated from the mainland by the waters of the North Sea. The archipelago consists of the Inner and Outer Farne Islands and is known for its exposed cliffs, sea caves, rocky shores, and internationally important wildlife colonies. The islands have no permanent population and are reached by boat from nearby Seahouses.
